64.

65.
vlmcs is
66. a program that can be used to test a KMS server that
67. provides activation for several Microsoft products. The KMS

69. versions 4, 5 and 6.

70.
vlmcs
71. generates one or more activation requests for a Microsoft

78. can also be used to "charge" a KMS server. A
79. Microsoft KMS server sends correct activation messages only
80. if it detects a certain minimum of clients (25 for Windows
81. client OSses, 5 otherwise) on the network. This is
82. Microsoft’s futile attempt to prevent running a KMS

192. a product id to decide whether to grant activation or not. A
193. list of current kms-guids can be found in kms.c
194. (table KmsIdList). Emulated KMS servers grant activation
195. unconditionally and do not check the kms-guid.

196.
-s
197. activation-guid

200. Professional WMC KMSCLIENT edition". A
201. activation-guid maps 1:1 to a product key. However,
202. neither a Microsoft KMS server nor emulated servers check
203. this id. The activation-guid is useful in logging to
204. get a specific product description like "Windows 8.1
205. Professional WMC". A list of current
206. activation-guids can be found in kms.c (table

208.
-n requests

209.
Send requests requests

211. and enough subsequent requests that the server is fully
212. charged afterwards for the application−guid you
213. selected (explicitly with -a or implicitly by using

227. with a large number of requests (> 100000) and then test
228. twice (with and without -T). This option may become
229. neccessary for future versions of Microsoft’s KMS
230. server because multiple requests with different
231. clients-guids for the same kms-id-guid are
232. impossible in a real KMS szenario over the same TCP

235.
-c
236. client-machine-guid

237.
Normally vlmcs generates a
238. random client-machine-guid for each request. By using
239. this option you can specify a fixed
240. client-machine-guid This causes a Microsoft KMS not
241. to increment its client count because it receives multiple
242. requests for the same client. Thus do not use -c if
243. you want to charge a real KMS server.

244.
-o
245. previous-client-machine-guid

246.
If the
247. client-machine-guid changes for some reason, the real
248. KMS client stores a previous-client-machine-guid
249. which is sent to the KMS server. This happens rarely and
250. usually 00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 is used. You
251. can use -o to specify a different
252. previous-client-machine-guid.

253.
-G filename

254.
Grabs ePIDs and HWIDs from a
255. KMS server and writes the information to filename in
256. format suitable to be used as a configuration file (aka ini
257. file) for vlmcsd(8). This is especially useful if you
258. have access to a genuine KMS server and want to use the same
259. data with vlmcsd(8).

260.
If
261. filename does not exist, it will be created. If you
262. specify an existing filename, it will be updated to
263. use the information received from the remote KMS server and
264. a backup filename~ will be created.

265.
-G
266. cannot be used with -l, -4, -5,
267. -6, -a, -s, -k, -r and
268. -n

269.
-w
270. workstation-name

271.
Send requests with a specific
272. workstation-name. This disables the random generator
273. for the workstation name. Since it is a comment only, this
274. option does not have much effect.

275.
-r
276. required-client-count

277.
Also known as the "N count
278. policy". Tells the KMS server that successful
279. activation requires required-client-count clients.
280. The default is the required-client-count that the
281. product would need if the request was a real activation. A
282. Microsoft KMS server counts clients up to the double amount
283. what was specified with -r. This option can be used
284. to "overcharge" a Microsoft KMS server.

285.
−t status

286.
Reports a specific license
287. status to the KMS server. status is a number that can
288. be from 0 to 6. 0=unlicensed, 1=licensed, 2=OOB grace, 3=OOT
289. grace, 4=Non-genuinue grace, 5=notification, 6=extended

293. information for statistics only.

294.
-g
295. binding-expiration

296.
This tells the KMS server how
297. long a client will stay in its current license status. This
298. can be the remaining OOB time (the grace peroid that is
299. granted between installation of a product and when
300. activation is actuall required) or the remaining time when
301. KMS activation must be renewed. binding-expiration is
302. specified in minutes. A Microsoft KMS server apparantly does
303. not use this information.

304.
-i

306.
Force the use of Internet
